I have a Welch pony named BP. He is 8 years old and a lot of fun. How long does this breed live?

I think you mean Welsh. Common mistake! lol!
Ponies generally live longer than horses. Just like small dogs live longer than big ones. If you take proper care of your horse, teeth floating, vaccines, etc., he could live well past 25. (And still be rideable at that age!)
A section B Welsh at a barn I ride at, just celebrated his 37th birthday!! He still gives lessons to small kids and is great shape for his age.
One thing you need to do when horses get older is give them more food. They start to loose teeth and there's no such thing as equine dentures! Yet anyway. Once horses are 18 or so, start them on a senior food to help them keep wieght.

Have fun with your pony for 13+ years!!!

Your pony will probably live to about 35 to 40 if he is well taken care of. He still has many good years of fun left.

I know a Welsh section A gelding who is 35 years old. He was regularly ridden (by small children) until a few years ago. He has been in the same family since a foal.

25 is more usual though.
