We are doing "High School Musical" We need a one minute monologue for a tryout. It cant be too complicated. Sorta kiddish. THanx!!

Ugh, normally, I wouldn't answer this question cause you are trying out for "High School Musical", but I feel charitable.

Search to see if you can fidn any free, kinda childish plays on the internet and see if you can find a momologue there. All the monologues I ever do I either write or are from a Shakespeare play, and that's probably not what they are asking for here.

If your good, you should be able to work with most any piece, but the best pieces, in my opinion, come from actual plays. Is it okay with the director to get a monologue from that play? If not try a monologue from, like, I don't know, Into the Woods, or The Wizard of Oz. Sorry, I can't think of much. Those two happen to be fantasy, my bad, you really don't have to do fantasy if you don't like it. But try a musical or play that has the same tone as You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and do that. The best would be the monologue of the character your auditioning for, but make sure that's appropriate to do, first. Break a leg! :D
