What is the irony part of the story in The Raisen in the Sun? Please Help

Gosh I haven't read that in so long. Isn't it the part where the win some money or come into some money but it's only enough to pay off bills and continue to live where they live now?

Sorry can't really remember, but isn't there a part in the beginning where the lead male takes money that the mother had set aside tp purchase a home and loans it to a friend to gamble with. Towards the end doesn't the friend pay off or was it an insurence policy that finnaly paid? All I really remember is that they couldn't move into the new place but they had money to continue to live where they were living now.
