This depends on what you did... or didn't do... or... well... the whole situation.
I'm going to tell you from the start that buying her something is not the answer. Then every time you buy her something, she'll think you did something wrong. On top of that, it sends the underlying message that her affections can be purchased, no matter how badly you behave.
What you need to do instead, is to show her how you feel... by either writing it in a letter... or taking her somewhere to have a nice time together. You need to place weight on the good times you share, not try to schmutz over the mistakes you make with a gift.
Cook her dinner... take her out somewhere she's always wanted to go that you normally don't... say it in writing... make sure she understands how you feel and MAKE SURE YOU ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR MISTAKE because that's the most important part :)
Best to you...

First of all, try not to make your partner mad. Most arguments are sources to minor and stupid mistakes. Generally on the part of the man. Most men are just insensitive when it comes to the topic of romance and especially women. Flowers and candies and teddy bears may all just be clichés, but for most women that will do just fine. Now you have to remember the most important thing - how big did you screw up! If it was minor, then flowers and candies will do. Now here is the problem; most people, mostly male, will inform you that the bigger the gift the better she will be in receiving it. A woman, in the majority, will never forgive and forget. She may say that she forgives you and at the time may genuinely feel so, but the second after making the next or similar mistake she will toss it right back into your face. These are just the “common sense” basics. Think about the simpler things. For instance, what does she like? Does she want you to do a couple of chores? Spend more (intimate) time with her? Just talk things out maybe; or it could be that saying sorry was enough. Listen for the hints. You may or may not see them at first, but in time you will learn “her” language.

I am only a thirteen year old boy in elementary school but I've been through what you're going through. The girl i like has been really sad and i wan't there for her. I wanted to show her i love her and I am sorry so I decided that making something would be a lot more valuable than buying something. I think that buying something shows that you are lazy and would rather take the easy route to get you love a present. I amde my love earings and she was really happy that I did rather than buying it. Maybe you should try spending more time on your love, and you would if you really did love her.
And remeber to say how much you care about her

Nothing but a dozen, long-stemmed red roses will do, except for a red Ferrari. No, stick with the roses. You can't go wrong there! Oh, in the future, forget the teddy bears. A woman wants to be treated special, like a queen. Leave the teddy bears with the puppy love stuff.

Mitch, you can not buy love. If you really want her to know you love her and are sorry, forget diamonds, flowers or chocolat. Consider a handwritten note! Pen and ink and paper are still available, these days. Tongue-tied? Refer to book c.a.2003 "The Lost Art of The Handwritten Note." [see Amazon]
If you really like her, you will find the words. Caveat: better make sure you mean them; letters are rather permanent. If you can not find the words you are comfortable with and are willing to stick by, you may want to consider finding a new partner.

Just telling her you love her and Im sorry and just give her a nice warm hug and watch a good moive together and spoil her the whole night through, maybe make her a nice dinner. Buying gifts is just to desperate every guy can do that but a guy that loves a girl will do something unusual and special.

I would say really make her a peom that is from your heart and take her to dinner and give it to her before you have your meal.Be romantic and apologize to her.A woman likes a man who admits when he is wrong and can be man enough to admit it to her to make things bettter in the relationship.
Maybe you can put the poem with the stuffed animal or in with a box of girly things like bath stuff, perfume ect. Or a gift certificate of pampering( if she is that kid of girl) make her feel like you mean what you say.

ok, I'm a hopeless romantic. I think writing her a poem, song or love letter would be nice. Maybe take her to a park this weekend, pack a picnic lunch with her favorite foods and a bottle of wine, and read it to her out loud....then present the care bear ;) Good luck!

I think the best present would be telling her the truth and maybe writing her a poem and getting her a care bear but seriously, will she take you serious with just a care bear

It all depends on what she'd like and exactly what you did to upset her. Flowers, a card - all the way to a day at a spa would be great. Personally, I don't go for stuffed animals but I guess it depends on age and personality.
