The Nile has always been important because:
- Its yearly floods provided fertile land
- Its northward flow made it easy for boats to sail to the Mediterranean Sea
- Southern winds are common in Egypt, making it easy for ships to return from the Mediterranean Sea (against the Nile's current)

all rivers provide water as well as transportation along the river. that builds commerce/trade & travel between areas. Wealth. Also a way to communicate over large areas quickly.

it gave the Egyptians silt from the bottom of the river which was good for farming and it let them transport those giants boulders down the river to the pyramid spot.

THE NILE RIVER ITSELF WAS CONSIDERED A GOD BY VIRTUE OF IT'S LIFE-SUSTAINING FERTILITY!!AND WAS MANY TIMES DEPICTED AS SUCH!!NILOMETERS CAN STILL BE SEEN;CRAVED PLINTHS OF STONE ON WHICH THE HIGH WATER MARKS OF EACH YEARS INUNDATIONS WERE ETCHED AND DULY RECORDED FOR POSTERITY SO THAT RECORDS COULD PREDICT ALL FUTURE ASPECTS AND SHORTCOMINGS OF DIFFERENT DECADES!!
