I am trying to use wireless connection in my friends house. Yesterday when I tried to connect to one of the available wireless connection it works and I still put the connection until the morning and it was disconnected. When I tried to connect again to the same wireless connection name, it could connect and I have an IP address assigned to my computer. But it wouldn't open any web pages, connect to IM, and etc. I havent change any connection settings, what's wrong and how do I fix this problem?

I think his connection is not down because it is shown on my available wireless connection. I tried to ping the connection and it gives this error message:

Ping request aould not find host www.yahoo.com. Please check the name and try again.

Chances are you're connecting to his wireless router, but not getting through. that you're getting a valid IP indicates that you're connected to him. that you can't download anything or get out to anywhere, means that his router is not allowing your computer to go through it. Is his connection down? go to the Start button on the bottom left hand side, and in the RUN type CMD. this will give you a DOS window. Type in Ping www.yahoo.com

If you get a bunch of * * * *, then you aren't getting through the network. He may of blocked you out, or his connection may be down.

Sounds like the wireless network that you connected to has security set at Level 2 (MAC). You won't be able to access the Internet if that is the case on the LAN of the network that you connected to.

You may have been connected to someone else's wireless connection and they locked their network.

Sounds like you're trying to access your "friend's" network without permission and you've been locked out...
