If you are on a boat go outside so you can see the horizon it helps greatly. If you stay inside (especially if its a rocky ride) the walls moving all around you tend to make one sick. Going out side and standing on the deck allows your eyes to not be subject to the odd movements that the walls project to your eyes.

Also you can take Dramamine or Ginger, but if you arent too sensative the first part of my answer will do.

Try taking Dramamine. This is a motion sickness pill. My mom's friend gets queasy just riding in the car, also. It happens to people who are more sensitive. If you're not driving, then stare at the lines in the road and this helps, too. Also, don't be reading books or looking down, that type of thing aggravates the sick feeling. Hope this helps! :D

Drammamine is certainly an option though it will likely make you very sleepy. Make sure if you take this medicine you are not the driver! Other things you can do are to stay away from noxious foods before and while travelling (ie high fat foods/spicey etc). It helps if you sit in the front of the car versus the back...less movement. And focusing on an object in the distance that remains "steady" may also help. Apparently activities like reading aggravate motion sickness more so avoid doing anything like this. Hope this helps.....

Its hard, but if you're in a car - don't travel on an empty stomach. Sit near a window and preferably at the front so you can see where you are going. Chewing gum helps, as does (no kidding) sticking your little finger out of the car window whilst its in motion. Don't eat oranges before a drive. Also, keep travel sick tablets on hand and cool water. Lying down helps if you can lie down when travelling. If you are talking about motion sickness on a Show ride, then its tough. Take travel sick tablets before getting on one!!

Drammamine. I love the stuff.

If you are going on a ship/cruise, take that before you start the checkin process.

Make sure you find a stateroom where you will not feel the ups and downs of the ship.

If in a car, close your eyes, take drammamine, and if possible get a cool cloth over your forehead and eyes.

If in a plane, don't take a window seat and don't look out the window. Same with a train.

I'm not sure it can be cured permantly....

I used to always get motion sickness during long trips. I discovered a few years ago that if you keep you mind distracted....you may be able to avoid getting sick. My husband bought a portable DVD player so we could watch movies while traveling. It made my trips shorter....and my mind was so concentrated of the movie....I never even felt any sickness.

eat a little raw ginger or buy some ginger pills from your local herb/vitamin store. The Mythbusters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythbusters) did a whole segement on cures for motion sickness and ginger pills won over EVERYTHING! and here's another article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sickness#Cures_and_treatments

Get drunk and pass out. then at least you have a reason for getting sick

One thing you can do is look at the horizon. they also make over the counter meds you can buy. Ginger tablets have also been proven to work for motion sickness.

If you can feel the air moving around you (open window), don't read or try to read a map while moving. And Dramamine or ginger is very helpful.
