For a circumsized boy you will need gauze for the penis and A&D ointment. Diapers, not too many in one size, they grow fast. Wipes (get the sensitive ones for now just in case). Sleepers and gowns, onsies and socks. Blankets, and cloth diapers for burp rags. Scratch mitts are nice to have in the begining. Bath essentials, shampoo, lotion, diaper cream, cornstarch (baby powder settles into the baby's lungs, cornstarch is heavier, therefore safter). Nail clippers, alcohol for the umbilical cord. Feeding supplies depending on the method you choose.

Of course you need the big ticket items too. Carseat (infant or convertable), crib, dresser, vibrating seat, swing, boppy pillows are great to support the baby while you are feeding the baby and great for when baby is learning to sit on their own. I myself would not buy a changing table. Nine times out of ten you don't use it (or at least I never did).

I have a 1 yr. old boy and i have to say that i prefered pampers over huggies and luvs. the luvs seemed souncomfortable, they felt like plastic and the huggies always leaked. we never had problems with the pampers, just a person preference. also if you know someone that works at a hospita they can get you pampers at a discounted price. several friends did this for the baby shower gift.

Basically the same thing as girls, just not same colors. Most stuff is unisex, like diapers and wipees. But it's always fun to go all out for your boy!
