Delighted. The Yankees will make the playoffs, like they always do, and then it is just a matter of coming through in the post season.

Randy Johnson has flat out stunk in the postseason.

IMO, Pettite will start out being considered the #4 starter or so, but by the time October rolls around, Torre will be saying that he has more confidence in him than anyone else, with the possible exception of Wang.

We have missed Pettite a lot. If we had him to pitch Game 3 of the ALDS in 2005, or Game 7 of the ALCS in 2004, things would have been very very different.

Andy Pettitte helped the Yankees win 4 rings, and he has in all of them. Andy Pettitte was a great pitcher when he was on the Yankees, and then he started to slack when he came to the Astros. Now that he is coming back to the Yankees, I hope he wins the Cy Young award. You know what would be really cool? Andy Pettitte defeating Daisuke Matsuzaka in a 1-game playoff to decide the winner of the AL East Red Sox vs Yankees and both pitchers pitch a complete game and Pettitte completes a shutout of the Sox. That would be awesome.

I think Pettitte sures up the Yankees starting rotation. Also if Roger follows him there it is game over for everyone else.

He was not as good in the National league. pretty good pitcher, the Yanks should never have let him go.

I think its a desperate attempt to bolster a shaky staff though. Should help but the Yankees need to get some better pitchers.

He should never have left. Steinbrenner treated him like dirt so I'm surprised that he came back. He is still a decent pitcher and can only help the Yankees.

Pleased..... extremely.

He will bring an added dimension back to the rotation that the Yankees have been missing since he left

Good news. Was always sorry to see him go. Though I do have concerns about his health.

He can still pitch and still win. It is a smart move.
