In it's unofficial form it has never ended anywhere in the world and never will. People in general like to hang out with those who are like themselves. That's the way nature works. Nothing wrong with that, as long as it's free choice.

The first GENERAL election for all races after becoming a republic in 1961 was in 1994.

The dismantling of apartheid started already before 1990.

Aparently Apartheid ended when Mandela was brought out of jail which was in 1990! But i think it ended in 1994-but my mom says that's when democracy started!

1994 is globally accepted, but has it ever really ended? As in most countries it is just not displayed outright, but believe me it still exists.

Apartheid did not end... it just changed direction.
Whites are now being discriminated against. Apartheids' name change to Affirmative Action (AA) and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)
