My 5 year old sister wants rocks for Christmas but my mom told me no tto get them for her and get her some markers and a coloring book. She really wants rocks for Christmas and I don't want to disappoint her.

You could go to the discovery store or a nature store and get her a few pretty gemstones in there, that way they're not JUST rocks but they're pretty as well. You could also get a small plain trinket box and some stickers & crayons for her to decorate the box and put her new treasures in it.
That shouldn't be too much money so to make your mother happy as well you can grab a cheap $1 coloring book from walmart to go with it.

If we're all talking about respecting our parents, then this is a good time to show your little sister by example, as to why we should all respect our parents...How would you feel if this issue was reversed and you were mom...please talk to mom again to explain the reason for your gift, and to win her approval, and do not TEACH your sister to go over moms head.

I would go to a store that sells crystals and stuff like that! They have all different kind of stone, rocks, and crystals that you could buy for her! Some of those rocks can be really pretty and she would really like that if she wants rocks for Christmas!

Well...my first question for you is why did your mom tell you not to give her the rocks? Is there a reason or just that she thinks it's a dumb idea? If it was just a dumb idea then I say get her some, and the crayons etc if you can.

You should not get your little sister rocks. She is little and doesn't understand what a rock really is. Get her barbie dolls or bratz dolls or get her coloring stuff
Rocks are dangerous they can be choking hazards.

u should get her all three if you can! if not, try to find some really cool rocks. that would be a coo,twist! =P like rocks with designs or colors on them.

find out why they don't want her to have rocks. Is she into geology and likes to study stones such as quartz crystal? I can't see why it would hurt anyone unless the rocks were thrown.
