I'm assuming you mean on ebay. You need to contact the seller to tell them you don't want it. Explain why. It is considered bad conduct to say you don't want something, once you've won. You're the one that bid on it. You said you were willing to pay $36 for a DVD. Now, you're changing your mind.
The best way is to talk to the seller. Most likely they'll ask you to pay a portion of the cost anyway, cause thats ANNOYING! You'll probably also get bad ratings on ebay, as well.

This is a hard one. The only real way you can get out of this is to write to the buyer and basically tell him that you bidded on the item and you really don't want the item. Maybe offer him to pay the cost of the fees that he pays to relist the item. Thats about 5 dollars.
If he says no then go through ebay about it. My dad sells stuff on ebay and there are alot of times when people bid and don't really want the item. Just be honest to the seller...

Pay for it
YOu can contact the seller, but 90% of the time, they are just going to ignore you, and then send non paying bidder notice against you, then give you negative feedback.
Why did you bid if you had no intention of paying for it?
Take it as a lessoned learned, be more frugal about what you bid on.

Your gonna have to pay for it or contact the seller and say that your friend purchased it while on your computer and now he won't pay you. See the thing is the seller has been charged $ out of his pocket for listing and more $ for the final sale of the item. Either way your going to get negative feedback.

Bummer. As Ebay says, BID WITH CONFIDENCE. I'd pay for the DVD and chalk it up as a lesson learned. You will get bad feedback otherwise.

replica the object id# first. click on the link beside historic previous on the website that has the object you bid on. it somewhat is going to likely be below the area the place you enter your bid. Then on the backside, you will see a blue link that asserts retract your bid. click on it. scroll to the backside and you will see a blue link that asserts Bid Retraction. click on it. enter your merchandise # which you copied in the previous and enter a reason (merely %. any) for retracting your bid. click retract bid. your bid is cancelled
