People seem to be horrified of homosexuals theses days, and I can't see why. What harm do they do?
The whole "They spread AIDS" thing is bunk. AIDS is spread through heterosexual sex just as easily, and as long as you use protection and you and your partner get tested, it doesn’t matter what sex they are.
"Corrupting our children" is also bunk. I've never met a gay person who gave a crap if anyone's kids were gay. And more pedophiles are heterosexual than homosexual. Gay people are just as capable of raising children, too. I've met more than one well adjusted and yes, straight person who was raised by gay parents.
"They can't populate the earth" is just silly. The earth is plenty populated already, and just because a few people are gay doesn’t mean there aren’t millions of straight couples pumping out babies.
And don't get me started on the people who say it's a "sin." Not everyone believes the same thing you do. Get over it.
So tell me, why are people scared of homosexuals?

Aeirlys, maybe you have a point. I mean, I'm straight as an arrow and even I might consider going gay for Xena. *lol*
I kid, I kid. :p

Get A Grip, you don't have to like them, but you shouldn't try to deny them rights either.
And homosexuality is as natural as anything else. Lots of animals are gay.

We're contagious. Didn't you know? I asked around the corner bar once, and one in three lesbians said they caught "the gay" from watching Xena reruns.
Also, we have a secret conspiracy to take over the world and brainwash everyone. It's so secret that only the heteros in Arkansas know about it.

People are just afraid of what seems 'different' to them, different from the 'norm'. Women than men seem to be a lot more open and tolerate though, and a lot less homophobic for the most part. But either way, things like that shouldnt matter. (I personally dont even know why people even care, its not like its out business anyway).
As for me, I'm what they would call "straight" or heterosexual (although I DO have this strange fondness for looking at pretty girls). And just because it was mentioned in another answer, I'm a fan of "Xena: Warrior Princess". She was frickin' beautiful. Yeah, I like Xena...
Umm, wait what we're we talking about?

OMG homosexuals!!!! AHHHHH!!
Those men like men! Just like...I...do......??
Yeah, a lot of people said it was their right to have a different opinion regarding african americans, too. In this case, it isn't something you can have an "opinion" on. It's a simple fact that these people aren't any different than you are. You are in no way shape or form any better than a gay person, so get used to it. (I'm speaking to the homophobes, not you asker lady.)

I'm not one of them. I'm pro-gay. Go gay! Yeah! lol But I have to admit that if I had to spend time with a very mannish lesbian, I'd be uncomfortable, at least in the beginning.
I guess because I'd be picturing her having sex, and it wouldn't appeal to me. Quite the opposite in fact.
So perhaps that's one reason. But those people just take it to extremes that reasonable people do not.

The fear from homosexualism is called as "Homofobia" and directly a result of patriarcy. The people are looking to homosexuals like a treat to patriarcy, the hegamony of men.

The are what is called homophobic...they are afraid that they might be gay!!! Usually if someone is *REALLY* homophobic, they are gay...and just can't admit it. People are afraid of anything that's different. They are trained to feel this way, by religion, parents, friends and schoolmates. Most of America is pretty ignorant. Sad to say.

I have family members who are homosexual and I see nothing to fear. I will have to admit that they do have a different spirit than heterosexuals. If your convictions run so deep, perhaps you are representative to all gays.

people are scared of the unknown so instead of making friends and learning they spread garbage plus society has it so taboo and lets not forget the bible thumpers who preach fire and brimstone unfortunately it will take another decade for society to see you bleed red blood and you love with your heart but until that happens ignorance will prevail

I agree with you 100%. I think that the main reason people fear homosexuals is because they just don't understand it. Small-minded people desperately fear things they can't understand.
