Death Note!!! I know the title sounds pretty morbid, but the mangaka is a genius, and the story is brilliant, even though it does have its down moments. xP I recommend you check it out if you haven't already.
Mm.. what else.. my friends really seem to like Naruto, Bleach, DNAngel, Full Metal Alchemist, and One Piece. I've never read those so I can't give you my personal opinion.

Death Note:
About a guy who find a death note from the ground. It belonged to a Shinigami (death god) and whenever you write a name in the book along with their face in you head, that person will die. If you dont write a reason they will die from a heart attack, you also have the ability to control their actions before death. And so on....
Its awesome, in japan it sold over 15 million i think.
