First you have to convert 8ft to inches: 12 inches =one foot
8 x 12= 96inches
now since 1=2.54 centimeters you multiply 96 by 2.54
96 x 2.54 = 243.84 centimeters

Just hold your centimeter ruler or tape measure vertically. Height can be measured in centimetres, directly. There is no need to convert. If you have a height in metres, divide by 100. If you have a height in inches, multiply by 2.54. If you have a height in millimetres, multiply by 10. If you have a height in feet, multiply by 12, then by 2.54.
