Why haven't the Red Sox introduced J.D Drew? We signed like 2 weeks ago and he is not on our roster? Where is he? It took 24 hours to introduce Daisuke Matsuzaka. Is he still with us?

Yes, he is still with the Sox. Drew has yet to take his physical to finalize the deal. Some players take a lot longer to be formally announced as a member of a ballclub. The delay doesn't mean that Drew isn't part of the team. It simply means that he hasn't taken the physical and thus, the contract isn't yet in effect. He and agent Scott Boras did, however, agree in principle and JD Drew will be with the Sox.

From MLB.com:

According to assistant general manager Jed Hoyer, Red Sox GM Theo Epstein and agent Scott Boras were so busy with the Daisuke Matsuzaka negotiations that they simply haven't had the time to finish up some of the language in Drew's deal. Look for it to be announced either late this week or early next week.

JD Drew IS indeed with the Red Sox. He has signed a multi-year contract. Not every new player is "introduced" for many reasons, such as availability. Worry not. JD will be in the lineup on opening day!!

Chow!!
