There is a much older movie with george c scott called the changeling. It was more of a haunting tale then a bloody picture though. I'm not sure what kind you were looking for.

'The Serpent and the rainbow' is a bit dated, but it scared the living @#$% out of me when i was younger. The Shining is also a good scarefest.
No one makes movies like these anymore... the only newer movies that have scared me are 'Glitter' with Mariah Carey and Britney Spears' venture into cinema... Yikes!

Check out the trilogy "Ginger Snaps". All three movies are great. The best horror trilogy ever.

Night of the Lepus.
I was 5 years old when I watched it and had nightmares for years.

Under 10 and saw "Freaked". Scared so much I went home 'cause I was at my friend's house and saw it. Afterwards it was just... eh.
