if the dr feels her weight gain is in the normal range, and she appears healthy and energetic enough to you, i would think that is fine,,,, just keep feeding her when she is hungry, as much as she wants, dont force or try to force more ,,,,,, if she has no symptoms to an allergy to that formula (bad diarrhea , throwing up after eating etc ), and i think your dr would of noticed, she is fine,,,,,, at this age, and really most ages of children, you judge by weight gain, as to determine if they are getting enough,,

All babies are different. Some follow the growth charts, and some grow faster than 'average' or more slowly than 'average.' Some are persistantly near the tops of the charts, and others stay near the bottom. This is all true whether baby is breast or formula fed. While it IS easier to overfeed a baby on formula than on breastmilk, if you feed your baby when she's hungry, and don't pressure her to take more than she wants, and don't start solids early, she should grow at the rate nature intends for her. (I have two neices, born two days apart. One was breastfed and one formula fed. Both were HUGE as infants -- off the top of the charts by 1-2 months. They were bigger at 3 months than my daughter was at 2 years. They are both now teens, and are of normal size.)

I am not an expert, but I am a parent of 3 healthy boys. I believe it all depends on the personality of the baby. We are born with certain built in appetites, attitudes etc. Not all are taught to us. One of my boys did the same thing as your child, he is now an adult, healthy and slender. His brothers took in a little more, and they are a little bit more stocky. All the time they were growing up the one boys appetite was just not as high as his siblings. I would probably be more worried if the baby wanted to consume MORE than normal.

your doctor is right. When she is hungry she will eat. At only 8 weeks they are still developmenting their schedule. As long as she is having enough wet diapers and enough b.m during the day you should not worry. If she goes for a long period with out wetting her diaper and she is lathargic then call your doctor.

As long as your baby isn't losing weight, then she's getting enough nutrients. If your baby starts losing weight, then you should start worrying. If you're formula feeding, sometimes babies get fuller faster (especially if you're using formula with Iron in it). Hope I could ease some of your worries.

2 months ago I was constantly taking care of my neice at 2 months. feed, burp, play pacifier when putting to sleep (If you use a pacifier) she'll eat more as she gets older. my niece is 4 months and drinks 6 ounces, fat ol' thing. But she's my angel whom I love more than anything. good luck.

Every baby is born with the ability to know if they are hungry or not. I would say you have nothing to worry about, as every child is diferent

She is perfectly fine. My daughter didn't eat much when she was 2 months either and now she loves to eat. They will let you know when they are hungry.

If she seems healthy in other respects, clear eyes, no sunken spot in her head, pooping regularly, peeing regularly, sleeping okay (as much as a 2mo sleeps) and not screaming inconsolably, she's probably fine. As long as she's gaining weight, growing and hitting her milestones, don't worry.

Go by what your baby is telling you, she will tell you how much she wants to eat... don't try to overfeed her!
3oz is enough for that age..
You can go to www.gerber.com and they can show you how much a baby will get at a certain time.....
