If we are going to have capital punishment, then all of them involved should receive the death penalty. It's justice AND it sends two messages, one to others who might think of trying such atrocities and one to our critics who say we do nothing about atrocities.
I also fear Steven Green, the now-civilian ringleader, is going to somehow squirm out of this. I hope not; if anyone fries, he should.

Neither.
There isn't any proof yet as to which of the soldiers did what, just that the 4 mentioned took part in the crimes in some way, so I don't think Spielman should be given the death penalty unless he plead guilty or confessed to the crimes outright.

He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 90 years in jail. I don't see the difference, he will have no life other then in a cage until he dies.
I don't like the death penelty because there have been so many wrongfully murdered, as DNA is now proving. If you plead guilty then it is his own fault rather then being wrongfully accused and perhaps he should be put to death.
Either way a crime like that is not to go unpunished.

Bad thing. I think it's used so people would say "Oh, they do punish bad soldiers" and everyone is happy. The genocide in Iraq won't stop anyway. He should live and deal with his actions. I don't believe in death penalty.

Don't you think you are jumping the gun a little here...Lets wait until he has been convicted or found not guilty!!
The military only executes for treason and desertion during war time! If he is found guilty, life without parole is the maximum sentence he can receive!

I am pro Mosaic Law.
If he did it kill him.
The news keeps saying 14 YO at that age she could have been married and divorced in Baghdad. The Muslim Brotherhood is notorious for training women to become prostitute murderers.
It is well documented that the MB approach women that have lost their husband and train them to kill infidels, using prostitution as the come-on.

I have reservations about the death penalty, only because of the many people who have been wrongfully convicted. However, if this guy had been executed, I wouldn't have had any sympathy for him.

Let him suffer slowly in prison for what he did. Better than death penalty. He will be raped himself in there.

Death penalty???
The guy hasn't even had his trial yet!
How about we hold off passing sentence until AFTER the man is found guilty.......if he even IS guilty.
