Why do some people have brown spots on the white part of their eyes? What is it?

its probably just extra pigment. i know i have a brown spot in the blue part of my eye and my optometrist said it was just a dark pigment deposit.

a lot of african americans have this, it's called racial melanosis and it is just pigment, like freckles.
