Theres nothing wrong with hometown pride. And as far as "manning up and going there" if they get offered to a better team, maybe that person doesn't want to go there. college isn't about sports, regardless of what most people say, college is to get an education. I went to a college that didn't have sports, I went for what college is about.

I don't know...it's also exciting to watch the underdog schools come up from nowhere...look at like, Gonzaga basketball and how a bunch of locals made their team something special. Sometimes routine top 10 schools gets ridiculously boring...I like to see underdogs shake things up a bit. It doesn't necessarily mean the player is afraid to explore new places; they may just prefer the coaching style, location, or education somewhere that's not ranked athletically.

I think that a player should play wherever they want to, regardless of teams being weak or not. Juice Williams is a product of ohio, but he went to Illinois because he could start at quarterback right away, Ohio State did recruit him, but I guess he decided to discover america, or uh, mid-illinois.

not at all. . . . . thats what you need for any hometown team to get better is home grown talent. . . . Im a huge Louisville fan. . . . take them for example startign QB and hiesman candidate from Louisville, top WR Mario soph from Louisville, top RB and another hiesman candidate Bush from Louisville, Brohm (theQB) had offers to ND,TENN,Miami,UF, FSU, and OU. . . . but turned them all down for Louisville, and they had a shot at a national championship this year but messed up agianst rutgers. . . . but next year all those guys come back and they will make another run. . . . . and that in turn has really helped our recruiting from other states and now Louisville is here to stay on the National Football map. . . . so you need to start with that home grown talent

No, sometimes playing around home is important to them. They should play where they want to play.
