I think the right age is 18 years old. I still think they are not mature enough. The question shouldn't really be what is the correct age. I think the question should be use protection when you start having sex. There are to many STD that will kill you, because a person don't want to use a condom.

well, some people 11, which is disgusting, usually only occurs in "bad" neighborhoods though, then more of the popular ppl, in school at least, around 12-14, most couples in high school do, less in 15 year olds i think tho, but not much less. Then you have the abstainers! theres a good amount of them, like me! A lot of ppl abstain, but if they do do it, the ages above are pretty common, i heard prom night a lot of ppl do it tho too

I know people who first had sex at 13, and I know people who were virgins well into their twenties (I was in the middle, at 16)- it's a really personal thing based on the values and needs of the individual.

Funny thing is that nobody will tell you straight...
The age doens't matter. It's the maturity and knowledge of the consequences. Just like a car. Just because you may be old enough, doesn't mean you can responsibly and the other side...Just because you are "young", you may have matured earlier.

i know kids as young as 11 having sex but i would say an appropriate age is when they are mature enough to take care of a child because that could happen whether they plan it or not.... so if they are not mature enough why take the chance?

when you are married, in a SERIOUS committed relationship, when you can handle the responsibility of children, and/or you have the maturity to buy your own condoms without being embarrassed. you should never have sex just to have sex - not cool, sleeping around is a great way to ruin your life and nobody wants to be considered slutty

Well if you are asking when they are starting to have sex now-a-days, it is between 12-17 for girls and about 15-18 for guys. But I don't think they should start until they are completely ready and educated about std's and pregnancy and finances.

i have a few friends who were twelve, i was 16 but i was a little late to loose my virginity. if you have a daughter who is young, please put her on the pill, even if she is 100 per cent positive she wont have sex, you just never know. please go see a doctor and work out birth control. you dont want your daughter falling pregnet and putting her through which ever choice she chooses.
