A petition wont do crap...however I want to respond to what the other people said.

Roger Clemens may be old, but lets also remember how well he did last year, and the year before, and all the years before that. He doesnt seem to be slowing down

If he does sign anywhere, it will only be a one year deal with maybe a player option for 2008.

Signing Clemens to the Yankees would give the Yankees leverage to trade another starter (maybe...Pavano?) and sign someone next year.

Signing Clemens would also give the Yankees the option to put Johnson in the bullpen. He proved in the WS against the Yankees in '01 that he can come out of the pen and his arm cannot take starting anymore so putting him in the pen would probably do more good than keeping him in the rotation.

Is Clemens selfish? Probably...would I love to have an answer from him instead of all this hype about where he might go, if he'll play or not, absolutely but we arent going to get it. However, if he does play, the Yankees signing him can only help. You just dont let Hall of Fame players who still play like they are in their prime get away. Whats the worse that happens, you sign him, he sucks, bench him bring up one of the major-leauge ready minor leaguers and he retires the end of the year. There is just too much upside there, if the Yankees can sign him, they should, plain and simple.

Come on!! How can I resist the opportunity to expose Clemens for what he is!! A self-centered individual who cares ONLY for Roger. He exudes love for himself, not for baseball, not for the Yankees, not for anyone on earth but himself. Further, he could give all baseball fans a break if he retired and spared us his endless news conferences where he babbles along and contradicts him self over and over again. If you are truly a Yankee fan, and I believe you are, withdraw your petition because he is all washed up and will be of no help this year to the Yankees or to anyone else.. The only bigger albatross in all of baseball is Barry Bonds.

Chow!!

Hooooold on. I'm a Yankee Fan. We do NOT need Roger Clemens on our team. He's 44. Yes, he's experienced and good, but he's just too old. We can't afford to keep spending all this money for veterans.

And a petition won't do anything.

I by no potential forgot the ****** of baseball, in fact he's enormously plenty a jerk all around. From all I even have study, steroids make a individual paranoid and irritable. He has meet those characteristics! Do I care, no! He could be barred from baseball for ever. Pete Rose could have made some stupid bets, yet he by no potential took unlawful, enhancement drugs, or the rest and the corridor of recognition has snubbed him! Clemens could be wiped from the historic previous of baseball. he isn't any function kind for united statesa.'s previous-time!!
