If you live around Northridge (which is probably not likely... but IF you do) you can go to the University and they have extremely cheap tickets there on sale. I guess it is to attract us college students, but they sell them to everyone. Also, I suppose they do that at all surrounding University in the L.A. area so try there.
I know super markets and fast food restaraunts have some sort of special as well, but not all the time.

universal has lots of discount tickets. if you go there in the beginning of the year you can get annual passes for $50.
