YES!...

Even in schools with a dress code, students compete with their clothes. Often they are allowed to buy their own pants, skirts, shirts. At that point, name brands become the competition. I think uniforms are pointless. Let students wear what they would like, as long as it is appropriate for school.

Well I'll give it to you in a child's & a parents' perspective.
Child's: Well NO because you should be able to wear clothes that "express" you in some sort of way! If we wear uniforms it's kind of like losing yourself. Some people want to be fashion desgner when they grow-up so when there a kid they want to expierment. Uniforms make you look like EVERYBODY else and it seems like you lose a little bit of yourself when you don't wear what you want to wear!!!

Parents': Yes they should have uniforms due to the fact some kids wear skirts;shirts;pants;etc. that are to short. If the kids were to wear uniforms then they would already have an appropiate outfit to wear to school!
I hope that helped you out a bit!!!:)

I don't think students should have to wear uniforms. Everyone is different and should be able to wear what they want to express themselves. I was poor growing up and could not afford all the great clothes that were flying off the shelves, but I didn't like wearing the uniforms either. It never gave me a chance to express myself, even with the hand me downs I wore. Hope this helps!

Now that I am in college I think schools all the way up into 12th should have uniforms. I wasted a lot of time worrying about vanity when I should have been worrying about my future! Now my slack is coming straight out of my pocket. Did you mean Khaki? Knee length navy blue dresses for girls, khakis for guys.

I don't agree with uniforms but they should have a strict dress code. many people use clothes as a form of expression, but that shouldn't mean that the girls can wear booty skirts, and the boys can wear their pants hanging down to the knees. As far as the kids that can't afford name brand clothes, I can't afford a BMW, but that is just something I have to deal with and realize it does not determine my worth

Yes. It would take the burden of costly clothes off the parents, some of who have a hard time of making ends meet.

Some of the clothing fads can be mind boggling expensive and then all at once a neu fad is the way to go.

Every study has said the grades improve & test scores go up when wearing uniforms. It is a dramatic difference for girls.
If something so small can improve grades, I would have to say yes to uniforms.
