A friend is in trouble with his fiance b/c he didn't talk to her much during a long car six hour car ride. It's not that he was upset with her or didn't want to talk to her. He just wasn't feeling chatty and so he wasn't very conversive. I guess his fiance was upset at not having much conversation and she sorta blew up after the trip was over. What was so wrong with not saying much during the car ride? I'm a guy, so a long quiet car ride is not a big deal to me.

Why would a woman get upset at not being spoken to during a long trip?

You know you are in a good relationship when you can sit back and enjoy silence together.

Some women like to talk a lot on car rides you did the right thing because on a 6 hour car ride a gut does not have a 6 hour conversation 2 hours at the most any thing longer than that your going to get in trouble because the wrong subject will come up and the your done don,t talk let her be mad she will get over it , happy motoring

Read [magazines, books] Watch movies or seasons of shows you like [portable dvd player/laptop] Listen to music Play video games [ds, gameboy, ps3?] You can start up something, like learn how to make friendship bracelets or origami or something :p At bookstores [usually in the children's section] they sell travel kits and such, which are pretty entertaining Talk to whoever is driving? Haha, maybe you can ask them a bunch of questions about themselves? Text If you have 3g internet, go online and stuff You can also google things to do during long rides or even look up why you can't sleep in a car. 15 hours is a LONG time, you might want to find a way to sleep :) Good luck + have fun!

In her mind, her ideal picture of her mate involves talking or chatting. It was probably just awkward for her and she may have felt that something was wrong with their relationship.. (whether it was the case or not). It was upsetting for her because she had a preset idea of what the car ride would be and he didn't fit that. It could be viewed as rude by your friend if he was being curt with her or just wouldn't answer her back. She could have maybe made an effort to converse out of courtesy to her.

Long car rides don't have to be filled with conversation from beginning to end.

There is something wrong when two people are used to talking alot and now they are not.

The woman in the car is freakin' crazy. She is blowing nothing out of proportion just to have a fight. Did she ever stop to think that he wasn't talking because he was comfortable enough with her to not need pointless chatter??

We just like to talk. End of story. During long car rides, my husband and I don't talk much.

I wouldn't get upset about something like that, unless maybe he was RUDELY not speaking to her. (Like not responding to things she said or asked.) I'm not the chattiest person in the car, either. As far as I'm concerned, if you have something to talk about, fine. If you don't, then there's nothing wrong with a little quiet now and then, either. Read a book or something. Sounds to me like she's being petty and childish.

Because it just one more thing they can whine about. Christ....I've never seen more females here complain about the most mundane things...this included.
No wonder guys are off running around behind their backs. Who wants to put up with someone who bi*tches about such petty stuff.
Quite frankly she's lucky she wasn't left at a rest stop along the way.

Hell if I'm not driving, shut up and let me sleep.

Usually I prefer to be rather quiet, so quiet sometimes that guys think there is something wrong or I'm mad...lol.

When all it is, is I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet.

Girls need to lighten up and stop being so critical and hysterical.
