for me if there are plans on a wonder woman movie they should cast an unknown as it works for the supermans movies i think if they cast a big star they should go for someone like jessica alba or jennifer garner

According to that Yahoo Movie Review they have had conversations with Sandra Bullock who could have accepted but said she got no interest in wearing the outfit or Jennifer Lopez as a second chance who said she´d love to play the superheroine...
For me due to popular Lynda Carter´s portrair of wonder woman in the tv show, Carmen Electra, Lindsay Lohan or Mila Kunis should play Wonder Woman, put them black hair and the uniform and they could look as better choices than Bullock or Lopéz. If Lopez gets the role I won´t watch the movie.

The rumours are indeed true with Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) directing I believe. I think Jennifer Garner would be a good choice but wouldn't discount Charisma Carpenter as she has worked with Whedon before.

It would be hard to beat Lynda Carter from the TV series - she was fab, a real role model!!
I think Uma Thurman would be a good choice.

A few months ago, maybe a year, there was a rumor about Kattie Holmes (Tom Cruise wife), to get the role.
I agree, it will be very hard to par Linda Carter, nontheless here's my list of candidates:

Probably just a rumor, but I heard that Katherine McPhee of American Idol (quasi) fame was in preliminary talks for the role.
