Hmm, you cannot possibly fit any of the american V8 engines in, they are too tall on the block, and to wide to fit in the bay as a transverse configuration.

If you want big power, there are two options.

the C20LET from the calibra/cavalier turbo will go in without a great deal of hassle size wise, and electrics are fiarly straightforward, but you'll need the box from the Calibra/Cavalier turbo and then have to convert it to front drive only, none of the other boxes can handle the power.

The other option is a two stage affair. The 2.5 litre V6 is a standard fit in the vectra, so you could always sell yours any buy one of them. There is also an option to get a 3 litre engine in there. These are standard on the Omega Elite and came on a very limited number of vectra super tourings (at a walloping great cost i might add). Both of those engine will give a healthy boost.

It's extremely difficult to Turbocharge the V6 engines due to sheer lack of space and heat problems. BUT supercharging is a doddle. There are several kits to supercharge the V6 engines with no internal changes to the engine.

Don't expect any of those options to be cheap. Indeed, the most cost effective way is to sell your vectra, buy a 2.5 GSi (the GSi models are 197bhp rather than 170bhp) and supercharge it.

The 3.0 V6 (210 to 240bhp) from an Omega Elite or MV6 will fit. - same size block as the 2.5 V6 (172 - 190bhp) - same engine bay throughout range - NOT recommended for turbos (overheats cylinders 5&6)

There are later 3.2 V6's from the 2003 MV6, but not sure about those without more mods.

A turboed & nitrous 2 litre will beat any of these in power - but no where near as refined.

With some modifications you could put either a blown 427 Ford SOHC or a Blown 426 Hemi there is NOT an automotive engine that is more powerful than either of these engines. The Ford will hands down put out the most power but are very few and very very hard to come by. The Hemi is a popular choice and parts are widely available, but you will have to convert your fuel system to run Nitro-Methane. These engines are known for easily putting out over 8,000HP

You can buy a 2 ltr eco-tech rally car engine, believe it or not, they recommend running it of carbs rather than an injection system as it's a lot cheaper to buy a carb set up that is almost as powerful as the injection system!!
Oh !! and it would eat the normal 3 ltr v6.

You can fit many things its up to you and your know how but just remember its not just the engine you need to mod its every thing like bakes suspension and even the tyres. Its not a five minute job it took my son two years to do his mini but when finished it would do 0 to 60 in 5 seconds.

you would pay about a grand to change the ecu a a broking. (two times the fee of your vehicle!) its all bullsh**. That basic will come on time and time lower back on maximum cutting-part autos, many times a defective sensor, yet prices £100 a go on the sellers only for them to say "i imagine it replaced into..". keep in concepts they don't look to be fixing your vehicle, purely restting the code faults. as quickly because it starts off drawing close, purely promote it. dont get stuck contained in the seize of taking it to the sellers many times, very intense priced. purchase an onlder vehicle that doesnt have sill ecus and poxy lambor sensors.
