I would execute people that should be removed from the gene pool. (i.e. Rapists, Murders, Child Molesters, Republicans*) If response to another question regarding the death penalty http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061211225534AAGdjY3 , I responded with this little bit of reasoning:

"Given enough time (on the scale of thousands of years), and given that the standard for what is considered a capital crime doesn't change over that time, and given that evolution is alive and well, the death penalty will cause humanity to be genetically predisposed to not commit capital crimes."

Using this bit of reasoning, it is possible to select how you want civilization to look thousands of years from now by simply redefining what exactly a capital crime is.

(*I'm just kidding about republicans.)

Persons executing others is just as unacceptable as those whose crime called for execution. In my opinion no one has the right, authority or justification to take another person's life...either under the guise of criminal intent or lawful execution.

Of course as with everything in society there are those cases where there is no other recourse (self defense) however even then, some of these acts prove to be an unwarranted defense.

I love your picture... but to answer your question, I don't believe in execution, who gives us the right to kill people? do unto others as you would want to be treated... with that said,

If I did beleive in execution, I think rapists, pedophiles, murderers of innocent people (if it was done intentionally), governments who are the cuase of terrorism (i.e. Bush,), things of that nature. Some crimes are just hideous and the guilty need to be punish.

Besides the obvious... loan sharks and their accomplices should be executed. Capital punishment should be made compulsory in all countries. They commit crime at their own will and destroy private property and physically harm innocent people. They and their accomplices, especially those who invest in their illegal schemes, should be sentenced to death immediately!!!

People who have done the worst things, who are messed up beyond treatment and who will only be a danger to society as long as they're alive. Keeping them in our prisons is a waste of tax dollars.

really, i don't feel any human should be given the power to take away another person's life regardless of how good or bad that other person is.

with that said, i'd say levy as heavy of a punishment as possible on anyone who:

* molests a child, particularly one who still falls into the infant category

* any parent who kills their young child

* anyone who kills an elderly person (excluding mercy killings) or disabled person

Basically, any time there's sexual or mortal crime committed on someone who is much more vulnerable than the average person.
