Yes, I came out when my son was still in elementary school.

No, I have not had any issues with being out to my son. He's a great kid, completely ok with it. He knows he's loved and cared for and that he's number one on my priority list. The only thing I feared was my ex husband finding out before my son turned thirteen, the age when the courts would ask him who he wanted to live with, and my ex trying to take him away.

Thankfully he only ever asked my son once if I was gay, my son who was then only nine years old simply looked up into his dad's eyes and replied; "Dad, you really should ask Mom this."

He never did, the coward!

Now my son is almost eighteen and adores my partner, he respects her like he would any other parent. He knows who's raised him and it wasn't his father.

Yes I came out after having both my children. I didn't have a problem with my oldest at all she understood. I had a tiny problem with my youngest she told us that god didn't like 2 girls or 2 guys being together but after a while she came to the term herself that god loves everyone the same and that mommy is happy and that my partner loves her the same way I do. Now after 2 years of a relationship and three years of knowing my partner she wouldn't have it any other way she tells all her friends and classmates she is special cause she has to mommy's that love her alot and she also has my girlfriends family that she has adopted as her own.I never forced anything on them I let them decide for themselves who they were going to love and it all worked out well.
