We all know that Butterflies come from Catapillars and the way things go on in this ol crazy world was wondering if you have seen also like me a Butterpillar.
It seemed to be half Caterpillar and half Butterfly. Basically a flying Caterpillar. Unfortuantly my Jack Russel saw it on the floor and rushed over and eat it. He loves eating things like that... So have any of you seen this weird insect ???????

LOL, love the idea of a Butterpillar!

It could be that it was a butterfly that had recently hatched and was still waiting for its wings to dry out and spread properly. Some moths differ between the sexes, and the female will be flightless and have only rudimentary wings while the male gets all the flight and pretty colours.

There are so many weird and wonderful insects out there that the only way to really identify it is to describe it in great detail to an etymologist...

Oh, and for dragonfly, I think the Pokemon-style caterpillar with the brown/sky blue eyes might be an elephant hawkmoth (it's definitely a hawkmoth of some kind); the blue 'eyes' are a protective attack reflex - if a bird (or person!) touches one it will retract its head into its neck, opening out the 'eyes' and making the bird think it's a snake, and therefore not edible.

I'd love to know what the Butterpillar really is - is it from the UK, the USA or somewhere else?

Believe me, there is no such thing. There MAY be something that LOOKS like a cross between the two, but since the caterpillar has to go through the pupa stage before coming a butterfly, what you say can not happen. Wish you had a picture -- I could have told you what it REALLY was, then. (I'm a "bug lady" from way back!)

Not exactly, I haven't seen insect like that. But I've seen a very interesting caterpillar. It looks like Pokemon Caterpie, honestly. It's green and yellow. It has big brown eyes, but he can "open" them, and then eyes are sky-blue. This caterpillar is pretty big and it loves to eat oleander leaves.
It's really bizarre. Just like a Caterpie!
