Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

There are a number of good reasons:
1. It's short - like the attention span of most high school students
2. It's easily accessible and comprehensible.
3. But most importantly, because of the message it sends. High school students all have dreams, and they are young enough to believe in them, often wholeheartedly. Soon enough, the world will try to crush those dreams, and so, if they remember this poem, perhaps it will help some hold on to them.
