Olivia, I am not making any assumptions, I haven't even offered my opinion, merely asking a question.

I believe that every single culture/nationality has many many different types of personalities. Just because some people from some country acts a certain way, doesn't mean everyone from that country is like that. Don't be so sterotypical and get to know people as an individual. So to answer your question, yes, I have.

I've never met an American but i'm sure some of them are bound to be lovely. Assuming that a whole country is full of twats is slightly unfair. Your personality doesn't depend on your country. Stereotypes are not nice. Merry Christmas xxx

I really have.

(Canadian here)

If you had asked me 10 years ago, I may have answered differently. Over the years, in community forums I have really gotten to know many Americans and truly, kind hearted, intelligent and nice Americans too.

We fear the unknown.

Once you take time to get to know people, you realize we are not that different. (of course exceptions on both sides here *wink*)

Henry Cosworth Jr the Fourth was a lovely man. I met him on my holidays in Amsterdam. He picked up a lighter that I had dropped and we got talking. Turns out he worked on the invention of the powertab.

Everyone I met in New York was very friendly. One guy selling watches in the street gave my wife two watches for the price of one because she was British! A saleslady in Macey's told us how to get 11% off our purchases (she didn't have to) and I didn't meet ANYONE who was rude.
