Do you mean a bump or swelling on your leg? That's caused by fluids that accumulate there after an injury. For the first 24 hours, you should put a cold pack on the spot to help prevent too much swelling. After 24 hours, put something warm on the spot, to help stimulate circulation and get rid of any swelling.

it's your bodies way to alert you to something that has happened to your body. When you fall- it's trauma to your skin, muscles, bones- etc. Ice for 24-48 hours then heat.
