It had to be that glorious 1968-69 season when the Jets, arrogant Joe Namath and all, pulled it off. And the Super Bowl was hardly shabby, with the great Johnny Unitas coming off the bench one last time and nearly pulling it out for the Colts. (He would have, too, if Johnny Sample hadn't intercepted him in the end zone at the very end of the game.) A lot of NFL fans remembered how talented Don Maynard was, and when the Colts keyed on Emerson Boozer, Matt Snell took up the slack and carried the running game along with the ball. It definitely washed the foul taste of the "Heidi game" out of our mouths.

best sports season is right about now when the NFL playoffs are coming soon and the NBA has started, other than that its the summer when i go to the lake
