The first row is k3, *p2, k2, rep from *, end p2, k3. The question has to do with the second row. Do I just redo row 1??

I think it's supposed to be, K the K sts and P the P sts. To me it looks like your doing ribbing. So here it is simpler. Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches. So your next row should be P3, *k2, p2, rep from* to end k2, p3. Then you'd repeat your first row and second rows for as long as you need. Hope this helps.

I think your doing a 'rib' stitch so the 2nd row should be ...p3 k2 p2 to end ...I think

i think you have a typo and your instructions should read "k to knit sts and p to purl sts." it means you will not be redoing row 1, but working it in exact reverse. if your next stitch on the needle is a knit stitch as it is facing you, then knit it, and vice versa.
