I'm 21. I'm still in school, but I NEED A BREAK. So I'm taking this semester off, and I was thinking of looking into some type of short program or certification to get...kind of like a realtor. Are travel agents required to get some sort of degree?? It's something that really interests me. I've worked at Banana Republic for awhile now...and I'm just tired of dealing w/ crappy retail!!!!

What are some benefits to becoming one??? Just any info you have would be useful I'm sure. Thanks!!! Happy Holidays :)

I will give you a drawback: It's a dying profession because of the Internet. Also, being a travel agent is just a different kind of retail.

I just bought my own on-line travel agency, and now, I travel at unbelievable wholesale prices, AND, I earn commission on all my own travel and anyone else's travel booked on my website. And the best part is that all my travel is now tax deductable because I am a travel professional!

Drop me an e-mail if you want more info
