I take it you have removed it from the recycle bin? There are several different available software packages that can do this. But the longer it is between deletion and trying to recover it, the less you will be able to recover. When you 'delete' something it is not physically deleted, just the access path is removed. By scanning the disk deleted stuff can be found. But, because your OS sees that the hard disk area is free it can reuse it, either with another file or just as a general work area. Once the disk area has been reused either the file has been completely overwritten or is corrupt. Then, it becomes harder or even impossible to recover.

To hide what you have deleted there are also packages available. Generally these overwrite the disk several times to disguise the original bit settings. The more times it is overwritten the harder it is to recover.
