Your employer is supposed to let you go for medicals. He/she is not allowed to fire someone for that. Can't you call in sick or get a half day?
Always see a Gyn for a first-time yeast infection. The over-the-counter medications are for those women who have had yeast infections before. Also, you don't know for sure if that's what you have.

There are topical vaginal "ANTIFUNGALS" that can treat yeast infection. Antibiotics and anti-itch products will not treat a yeast infection. AZO or pyridium as it is called is for bladder infection not yeast.
Most doctors are fairly helpful when it comes to their regular patients. Call his office and ask the nurse if he can phone in a prescription to the pharmacy. A drug called Diflucan(fluconazole) is a tablet that works fairly quickly for yeast infections, while the creams take a little longer.

You can try the over the counter products that everyone mentions. The do not seem to work for me. In a pinch I have ordered a dose of Diflucan from one of the internet pharmacies. They don't ask for a prescription..just a doctors name and I don't even think they check. This clears it up very fast. Are you sure it is a yeast infection? Have you had one before? If not you should go to the doctor, and find a new job if your health is not important to them.

There are lots of different brands on the market that you can buy over the counter. Monistat, Vagisil, etc. Some even come with a little tube of cream you can use to help make you more comfortable until you are cured. Hope you get better soon.

there are many over the counter items you can buy. i had somethin similar happen to me, jus couldnt make it to the doctor but i was able to talk to her over the phone. one down side i found out with the monistat 1 is that i had a really bad case of vaginal itch while i used it (from mid evenin until the next mornin). however once i washed it all out things were much better. a good preventitive item to use is cranberry vitamins. AZO makes a pretty good suppliment. good luck!
