Every child will be made fun of. That is just the way children are. I would just ask you to think about how that would look on a resume and how it would sound to introduce CEO Gunner (insert last name). Think about this child's future and not just as a little boy. Good luck
P.S. I think that is a cute name though. :)

I know a guy named Gunner. He does not get made fun of because of his name. I don't like the name though.

I actually know a Gunner. He is in elementary school still, but he has not gotten made fun of. A lot of parents compliment his parents on the name. So around where I live and my experiences with that name, I don't think he will get made fun of!I actually think its a very nice name!!
Congrats, and good luck!!

I don't think so. I have a classmate who's name is Gunner and he's the most popular guy in high school!! Maybe he'll get some luck, even though popularity isn't everything!

I think Gunner is a cool name, but kids can be mean and often times they are very creative in their insults. Most often it is not a child's name that makes him a target anyhow.
If you teach your child to be respectful of others and to be generous and kind he will be well liked by his peers and will be less likely to be picked on. However, he should also be taught to stand up for himself. It is a balancing act and I wouldn't go through my childhood again for anythiing.

I personally don't like Gunner & he will probably be made fun of it. If your heart is set on it, use it as a middle name:)

I think the question is if you think your son is going to be made fun of, then why are you naming him Gunner???

Gunnar is a German name.
Spell it like that, with an "a". Its not so much like the word "Gunner" and it is an actual recognised name in Germany.

I kinda like the name. It's always hard naming your children because it's hard to imagine them grown up. I have five daughters all with very 'unique' names. They all know they do though and they like them. My mother absolutely hates them all, but my husband and I really like them. My daughters' names are: Anastastia Uzoma, Kaylix Roderica, Caramia Zaeta, Caraway Leta, and Emmie Jo Sula. I taught my daughters to not care what other people say. They don't care either and I'm proud of them for that.
