I would recommend that you ask the supervisor why s/he refuses to give you a job description. It could be that they are being revised and not available. Explain to him/her that you "can't play the game unless you know the rules". Write a note to yourself detailing the conversation - date, time, place, what was said, by whom, etc.)

If s/he persists in denying your request ask the HR Department for a job description and tell them why you are forced to come to them. (Get the name of the person you talked to for future reference should you get a reprimand)
