Satellite Radio has three popular services: XM, Sirius, and Dephi; whereas internet Radio can be used and/or issued in popular search engines like Yahoo, MSN, or Lycos. I would like to know what the similarities and differences are.

Delphi is a manufacturer of XM satellite radios, among other things. They are not a Satellite Radio service. The only two in North America are XM and Sirius.

XM and Sirius are both $13/mo ($7/mo for additional receiver). That price also includes online streaming for them both so if you're interested in buying access to online streaming through Yahoo or whatever, why not go with the service that will let you listen to the radio, too?

The main difference is you can listen to XM and Sirius wherever you are. You're not tied down to a computer. You can not just listen at home, but in the car, jogging down the road or in the gym as well. Both services offer portable units that will work all over. Sirius' Stiletto 100 portable not just picks up the satellite signal but can switch to listening to the Sirius streams over WiFi if you're in a spot indoors where you can't get the satellite signal, like the Gym for example. It also has an MP3 player that you can record your favorite shows on. And yes, the sound quality is a lot better, and both have exclusive content that you won't find anywhere else, even on the internet. Like Howard Stern or Opie and Anthony. Go with satellite, you won't be disappointed!

Satellite radio is a little bit more expensive, but features a greater channel and programming selection. Also, their broadcast quality is far greater. I have XM and it is $13 per month and you can add up to 5 additional radios for $5 per month each. Plus, with satellite radio, you can get home radios, so you don't need a computer. Internet radio isn't as good and the quality is far worse. However, it is possible to find free online radio. I definatly recommend satellite radio, however. I hope this helps!
