I have a microbore gas central heating system, a few of the radiators stay cold. I have bleeded the air out of them and the thermostat on the radiators are turned up high. some of the faulty ones are upstairs and some downstairs. Please help?

from what you have written, i have to partially agree with some of the answers. IE. if the rads are cold at the bottom and warm at the top then it is a build up of sludge, if this is the case then taking them off and flushing them will help.
If the rads are totally cold then it could be knackered valves though that is unlikely.
being a micro bore system it can become sludged up and therefore it struggles to heat the whole system, something worth a try before an expensive system flush is to turn off all valves apart from one of the rads that is cold, this forces the heat to travel around the only rad it can. as this one works move on to the next, try to work from the furthest one to the boiler.
If this fails then get the system flushed.
I am assuming that there are no hidden isolation valves that are turned off. Good luck

As for the answer from The D.A. helpful..........NOT

First your boiler is a GAIA 424/8 S or RS don't understand the kind off hand yet maximum combes are very plenty alike. don't understand have been you acquire "Knightsbridge" from. Your situation sounds like a diverter valve diaphragm at fault. With the imperative heating grew to become off, inspect the valve unit (great brass block 3 great pipes and a pair of small ) on one end is many times fixed a change block (black in coloration) that's actuated by employing a pin that's pushed out from the valve while the nice and comfortable water faucet is grew to become on, is this working if no longer then its the diaphragm. employing a small screwdriver gently function the micro change does the boiler stir up now. If definite then the electronics are ok.

Possibly a faulty circulating pump. (probably not due to problems upstairs and downstairs, but they still could be the most remote radiators in the system).

Possibly temperature loss due to extended runs of uninsulated piping. (maybe in crawlspaces or attics).

Possibly old valves that have stuck shut, or hidden valves that are closed somewhere.

Check the valve at the opposite end of the radiator is open, if they are open then the radiators are blocked and will need to take them off the wall and flush them out.

You might have sediment built up in the pipes. Or the valves on the rads might me faulty. What type of radiator is it? Cast Iron, baseboard???

Hi there

If you have a combi boiler it might need topped up. Also better to bleed when heating is off.

I would suspect a problem with the pump. Try alter the pump setting, or check that it is going okay.

could be full of rubbish, corrosion etc.

turn them off at both sides, drain them, shallow bucket or sink bowl... towels.

take them outside and flush them through, refit and open both sides, bleed.
