ICE IT, and suck it up. It's just a sprained ankle. It will hurt for about 2 weeks. Also soak in epsom salt and hot water...

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Get crutches; if you should lose your balance and put your weight on the ankle, you're going to be in pain, plus you may do even more damage to it. If you haven't already seen a doctor, it might be a good idea to do that as well.

You could have torn the ligaments that "hold" your ankle stable and that is why you cant walk on it-- you need to go to an ER and have the doctor examine it and xray it- best scenario- ace bandage, and tylenol. Worse scenario- crutches torn ligaments and no walking on it for at least 3 weeks.

go now to the ER ps- you can cause more damage if you do put weight on it so DONT

you do need x-rays, although you can use an ace bandage and some cructhes to keep weight off the ankle, ice it to reduce swelling, and keep it elevated, if it feels better after 3 days you most likely don't need x-rays, but it's better to get them anyway. either way the ankle is going to be easily susceptible to another sprain for the next 6 months or so if your not careful

Get a magnet off of your fridge and put it on the sore ankle.
U may keep it on all night long.
If the ankle swells, apply ice.
Remember...RICE....rest, ice compression, elevation if swelling.
The magnet should draw the pain off.

This happened to me in jr high, and yes I had to get crutches. Look on the bright side, it'll get you out of P.E. at least a month. :)

put a splint on it, you can use a cane if you need to. the DR. will give you an "air"cast. it is a splint with air pockets to fill up for support. Wrap it with ACE bandage if you don't have a splint. the splint and IBUPROPHEN and ICE PACK will help. try to keep it elevated too....easy does it for 2 weeks
