No, the fumes are bad for any person of all ages. A baby is even worse. Ventilate the room well, so it no longer smells like paint.
Once you can't smell it, your baby is safe to sleep in the room again. For now put he/she in your room or living room.

Three months would be a little over the top. I would however make sure that you have ventilated the room well! Open all the windows and leave open for as long as possible. Then close up and use. If the smell of paint is still very strong though, I would advise you to wait, as there are situations whereby the babies breathing can be affected. I painted the entire house a week before our baby was due, and apart from a proper air-ing out .. the smell of paint was well gone by the time I got home!

I don't think you need to wait 3 months, but use your good judgement. If you get a headache from being in the room after a while don't put your baby in there. Whenever I have painted my childrens rooms, they have been kept out for a week, just to make sure all fumes are gone. They both suffer with asthma and the fumes would aggrevate the condition.
I would tend to wait another few days if I were you.

Not if the room still smells of paint, give it a good airing and when the smell is gone babes can go in. 3 months seems slightly excessive, but then parenting magazines are only helpful to a point and seem to think we are all London living, chelsea tractor driving idiots.

I think it depends on the type of paint you used,I would contact your local Paint store. I do know that when you fumigate a house you only need to be out for 48 hours. Iam pretty sure the chemicals used in fumigation are a lot worse than what is in paint. Another way to check is look on the paint can and see what the Guarantee is that is the Chemical used in the paint, And than check the internet for information on that product... Good Luck,

I wouldn't want to sleep in a room just painted. I have the ability to say
"I'm sleeping on the couch. I can't take this smell of fresh paint it's making me feel sick."
A baby most likely can not let you know that.
And if a freshly painted room is hard for a grown *** person to sleep in, what do you think it would do to a baby, genius?

No - all paints give off a solvent, even water based paints, because thats how they dry. Keep out of the room until the smell has gone away or the room has been well ventilated.

No. I wouldnt put your baby in that room to sleep. Leave it a couple of days, until the smell of paint has subsided. Move the baby into another room, for a couple of days
