my boyfriend of 8 1/2yrs works for contruction building ethonal plants,he makes good money. the deal is he doesnt want me too he wants to take care of me and has been for 6 yrs i have only had 3 jobs since we been together.well i kinda want to get a job but he thinks i should stay home take care of our 2 dogs and clean house take care of billls. what would u do would u work or stay home???????? help.

work part time. there is life besides the household.
you tend to start losing yourself when you don't have any other outlet.

The decission is for u to make.
Would u be happy to stay at home forever? Will u miss not working in a job? Think through logically and then decide.
If it is about time, u can always take a part time job.
If I was u , I would work coz i would like to. And if my husband diagreed, I would reason it with him.
At the end of the day, ur happiness counts. So, u decide what would make u happy and u both happy.

It sounds like he wants to control you by not letting you work and make some money. It depends on you tho. If you want a job I would start off with a part time job and see how things work out. Then if he has nothing to say about it then I would start working full time. It's nice having someone who will take care of you, but it's also nice making your own money and not depending on a man.

I would get a part time job because then you still have something to fall back on just in case. I do not work and when my husband and i fight nothing is mine,I have no money and being a stay at home mom is worthless to him. Keep a part time job trust me!!!

You can stay at home and keep your self engaged--other than with housework. Take up writing, or volunteer, or teach kids. Lots of ways to give back to the society-and maybe make some money in the process.

It depends. Do you particularly enjoy, or would you enjoy, a job? Would you be able to keep entertained being at home all day? Do you have enough out-of-the-home activities so that you wouldn't just be sitting at home all day long?
You need to weigh the pros and cons for yourself, in your particular situation.

If he does no tcare and you really feel that you want a job, then get one. You could always quit if you felt you would rather be at home, seeing that he doesn't care either way. I would do what i wanted to do. Get a job, girl!

life is abt makin compromises n if i were u i wud hav veryyy happily stayed bak at home clanin up da house makin a nice meal for my boyfriend n everything but if u still want to work just talk to him abt it but wen u love sum1 u just want to c dem happy n come on stayin bak at home n takin care of him urself n home is one beautiful thing n u shudnt b makin a big deal out of it

If there are no children at home then i think you should work, both of you should share the household chores.... you will need to build up your social security for retirement and its never too early to start... :o)

i would work. sounds like he is controlling u. analize other areas of your life. i am being verbally abused and it took me along to realize it. in a way he controls me because i am so afraid to make him angry. even though he gets angry anyways.
since u added the additional information, i would have to find a hobby to occupy my time and make new friends. if i didn't have to work. i would also have more children.
