I think this is pretty easily explained.

Santa has never been described as having been responsible for all of Creation, Santa can't send you to Hell, Santa is not said to be Jesus' father, and Santa has only the one holiday.

Most people have figured out by the time they are six or seven that Santa could not deliver all those presents in that short a time. So even though many people believe that there actually WAS a St. Nicholas, the hype about him is only believed by very small children.

The belief in God is central to the moral code of hundreds of millions of people. They feel that they would definitely misbehave horribly if they did not feel that "God would get them for it" if they did not.

Santa only influences the behavior of the young and the very gullible. It is easy to prove that Santa is not all he is cracked up to be. He is not even supposed to be invisible or capable of major miracles. God is pretty much noted for being invisible and all of Creation is just one of his miracles, they say.

Quite unusal question but here I go:
Santa relised by most doesn't exist because magic doesn't seem to
exist around them, when they get enough logic to figure out that Santa does not have the time, the ways to fly his slead and elves don't exist they will eventually put together that Santa does not or can not exist. This should be the exact same with the so called "God", but people mainy want their lives to be as best as they can so they start to develop something can help them if they can do this. Also the fear od death, it is feared by most. So they devlop some hevanly world that comes after death. But it mostly likely does not happen. Santa only brings presents while so called "God" will give you all you want in heaven, and all those things. For people to except that they might just die and not have anything after that makes fearful for some.. Making very hard, so they develop God or Gods...

I'm buddist. Not Atheist.

Because we know for a fact that Santa is not real. If we take a step out on faith and don't buy our kids anything for Christmas, there will be no presents under the tree the next morning. I believe that this is proof that there is no Santa. However, different people have varying experiences when it comes to God ... and there's no way to put it to the ultimate test.

St. Niklaus WAS real.

No one over the age of 10 actually believes that some dude flies around one night a year committing B&E to drop off crap at people's houses.

That's why other than in a Kindergarten class, you don't hear Santa's existence being debated.

Because the majority of adults know that Santa Clause is just an idea that they use to manipulate children into displaying good behavior.

GOD's existence is used for much more than that by children as well as adults!

In simple answer form: no one worships Santa, and he is based on a historical figure St. Nicholas.

Where as GOD is unseen by human eyes since the beginning of the Judeo - Christian faiths.

Only little children believe in Santa, to my knowledge. A lot of adults believe in god. I'm not sure your point is valid. Here in the bible belt most of the population are believers.

Hmmm, because people KNOW Santa is not real and that God is; therefore, some odd reason, it seems challenging to human beings to question, analyze and disprove TRUTH. Debating about Santa is a mute point, but God...now there's a hot topic! : )

Everyone comes to know, Santa is not real. Not wanting the responsibility of answering to a being greater than our self is requiring something of us that many are not willing to give.
