First, PLEASE disregard what Heinz has said about "massive" doses. It may have been a typo - he may have meant Vitamin C - but Vitamin D is one of the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D and E) which can build up toxic levels in your body. Most vitamins are water-soluble but these are not, and it is possible to overdose on any of these three. A dosage of D like what you would get in a multi-vitamin should help protect you if you aren't getting the 15 minutes of direct sun daily to provide your own Vitamin D. That being said...Vitamin C is a powerful immune system support. 1000 mg/day is the recommmended dosage to prevent colds and common infections. Since you have had a history of colds and other infections, you might require 1500 mg. per day. Keep in mind that it's virtually impossible to overdose on C. If you actually feel a sore throat or cold coming on, increase the dosage to 100 mg/ every 2 hours, combined with 2 Echinacea capsules. Take 1 zinc lozenge per day. Continue until bedtime, and if symptoms persist the next morning, continue for one more day. Symptoms should disappear. Linus Pauling, the only person to win two Nobel Prizes, did extensive research on C and made these recommendations. Personal experience has validated it over and over. You can't avoid germs - they are everywhere! The reason we get sick is not because we get chilled, or got exposed to a sick person, or touched a dirty doorknob; we get sick because our immune system is supressed and we don't have enough resistence to disease. A bottle of 500 mg. Vitamin C is only a few bucks - you have nothing to lose and a healthy constitution to gain! Echinacea is an immune system strengthener but is only effective for short-term treatment. Don't take it daily. Two weeks is the max, but usually you won't need it that long. BTW, humans and guinea pigs are the only mammals that don't produce their own Vitamin C.

My immune system is not the best. I avoid sugar, alcohol, dairy (in excess) and meat (in excess), try to exercise and take a LOT of Vitamin C.
If you can eat a lot of dark green vegetables, that should help in your body's acceptance of vitamins.
As far as supplement goes you might want to check out an HIV website for immune improvement ideas.
Although you probably do not have HIV, this site will help you check out the immune system and what you can do to improve it.

there is a way you can get your body to icrease the immune system and you can do it any where any time but do it once aday every day its a preasure point ,,,bend your arm till you can see a crease in the skin at the elbow, with your finger from your other hand ,follow the crease downwards till you come to the end of the crease which is at the nearest point to the elbow bone at the end of this crease push the tip of your finger quiet hard ,but not too hard into the skin at the end of the crease line ,this should actually hurt a bit ,if it do you are in the right place ,hold this there for 10 minutes ,if you kind of fold the arms you can do each sde at the same time ,this encourage your body to release emdorphines that helps build the immune system ,i have to do this daily .as i see a natural healer as ive been ill for 14 weeks ,and this is actually helping ,i wasnt a believer till now ,but it really do help try it and see for yourself .all the best kat

You should try taking silver hydrosol. It was the common medication used for many, many sorts of infections for years, up until the invention of common antibiotics in the early part of the 20th century. Basically, silver hydrosol is a suspention of tiny, microscopic particles of silver in distilled water. There is some sort of reaction that occurs between the silver and the enzymes that infectious bacteria need to live, and causes them to die. Have you ever heard the term "bluebloods" (mostly a historical word now) used to describe wealthy people, often those in the deep south? The term comes from the fact that those sort of people usually had real silver utensils and dishes to eat and drink from, and of course, naturally they would be ingesting small bits of silver along with their food. They wouldn't get sick as often as "common people" and eventually someone figured out this was because of the silver (not their higher status) and came up with silver hydrosol as a common medication.
I have taken it many years now because I used to get UTI infections alot and antibiotics quit working for me. Ever since I've taken silver hydrosol I've never gotten another UTI since. I also notice I don't get colds/flu as often, or as badly as other people. You can find silver hydrosol in natural/health food stores. It is a bit expensive but worth the money, in my opinon. Check out the website I have linked below, that is a good place to start too. Hope this info is helpful to you in some way.

My family has been getting sick but I take Jade Greenzymes and I am still well. My aunt takes a form or Barley Green also and she says that she won't get sick when doing this. Of course I use a water filter that also puts minerals back into the water so that my body uses the water I drink, and this makes a big difference because most sick people are deydrated!

You need to go to the doctor to rule out in Autoimmune disorders. As for supplements, anything with colostrum in it. If you have the cash for it, sorovera amp. It's primarily used for digestive disorders but it also helps and has been proven to help immune disorders (by infiltrating into the actually cell), reducing tumors, and even helping HIV patients. 270 Caps will cost you 166.00, shipping including. Look them up on the Internet. They will send you information if you request it with CD. P.S. There's a lot of supplements out there, watch out for the cheap stuff, it's full of additives. I recommend Solar Ray if you want to go with a multivitamin. Good luck!!
