Here's a decent link to a major part of the problem. Take notice of the percentage related to BCBS vs. Canada's entire administrative costs then multiply that the rest of our states and the lumps should be hitting the fan. My employer's pay over 4$ an hour towards my benefit package and although I am paying into the group coverage, I have no means to reap the benefits of all the combined monies I pay in--considering that once I am unemployed for one-quarter I am required to pay cash out of pocket (around 600$) per quarter in order to remain covered. All of us should stand together and write our legislators supporting the newly elected Democratic Congress future efforts to produce and pass a National health care plan!!!

The ones who sit in the corner offices of the health "care" insurance companies.
Corporate greed is the name of the game.
Many corporate "suits" have golden parachutes which include lifetime family coverage. Think they're worried?
The legislator's know, but the big providers lobby heavily enough to buy conciences.
But, since it is the democratic way , ,petitions, e.mail, hound local reps to get some attention.
Kood luck to all of us.

I think one of the BIG forms of greed is the litigation-system... I agree that the corporations are greedy, but they also have to build up a large reserve to PAY these foolish damages.

I'm Republican, and DO support cheaper health-care... I truly MISS my time in the Navy when I could pop in for a cold or dislocated finger and get treated!! I'm just nervous about a system the Dem's might set up.

Can you name one country with universal health care that the care is decent? I can't. It never fails that when the government gets mixed up in it, things go from bad to worse quickly. I can cite a couple hundred examples of that.
