Bush claims that our security is his responsibility..hmmm..really? If thats the case then shouldnt he also be responsible when security fails? ie..September 11th 2001? Obviously huge break downs in security were made..but who made the mistake?..WHO IS RESPONSIBLE???

I think it was a massive failure of the system going back a number of years... I don't think any one person is responsible.

The government didn't fly planes into the world trade center, terrorists did. They are responsible. Saying it's the government's fault won't change what happened. Airport security is much tighter now than it was before 9-11.

Probably no single person could be held to be responsible.
The failures happened over multiple administrations and under both Democratic and Republican presidents.

To the person who responded immediately after my response to the effect that (I'm paraphrasing) "... this is Bush administration SOP ..." etc.
I don't think that my response deserves to be attacked as if it was a partisan response. My response was, quite frankly, very neutral.
I believe that you are trying to turn this forum into a political message board - a role for which this forum is not appropriate.

Actually your point seems to be a SOP (standard operating procedure) with this administration. Not just 9/11 but anything that has happened on Bush's watch.
I guess I must be simple because I'm a "buck stops here" kinda guy. But with all that has happened and nobody taking responsibility, that really lost my respect for this President and his administration.
